Welcome to Greyfriars Medical Centre
Greyfriars Medical Centre is an 8 partner Practice based in a Georgian town centre terrace with modern equipment and full facilities, including disabled access from the rear of the building. There is reasonable street parking (restricted by a disc zone system) with a few other nearby, off street, free parking areas. Discs are available at our Reception desk or many town centre shops.
Reports have been received from both Patient Access users and people who have never registered for the service, that they have received Covid passport emails purporting to be from Patient Access.
We advise users of Patient Access to check the name and email address of the sender, all emails from Patient Access will come via an email address that ends in @patientaccess.com
All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes. When training new staff and Clinicians the Trainer will be monitoring live the telephone call to ensure the Patient receives the correct information.

Current Appointment System
With our current appointment system we hope it will mean more appropriate and timely allocation of appointments with the clinician best placed to deal with your medical problem.
All appointment requests will be dealt with on a “Telephone call-back” method. Appointments will be allocated on a first come first served basis each day.
Our Patient Services Team will ask you a few questions to determine the urgency of your problem and who is best placed to deal with your request. If you are under the care of a particular clinician, then they will do their best to accommodate this where appropriate, although you may be asked to call back on their next working day if you need a routine consultation.
If your problem is urgent, please inform our Patient Services Team and you will be called back by our Emergency Team. Advanced Nurse Practitioners lead our Emergency Team. If you request a call back from our Emergency Team and the call is not urgent, you may be asked to call back the following day.
Our Team will continue to direct you to the most appropriate member of the extended healthcare practitioners if this is relevant, such as Community Pharmacy, Specialist Opticians, Primary Care Mental Health Team and First Contact Practitioner.
At present pre-bookable face to face appointments are not available. If the appropriate Clinician feels a face to face consultation is necessary they will arrange with the Patient at the time of the telephone call-back

The Practice is open and working during the normal and advertised hours but ALL appointments will be made by telephone initially with face to face appointments arranged if necessary. Online booking Services have been suspended temporarily. The system will be updated continually as further advice is received.
GPs are able to deal with many matters by telephone and will be dealing with as many as possible in this way. Please be assured though that if you require a GP that one will be available to deal with your concerns. The Practice Staff may however need to ask more questions to ensure that your concerns are dealt with in the best and safest way.
It is also very important that you do not attend the Surgery to collect Prescriptions as they will be forwarded to and can be collected from your nominated Chemist. Please continue to order any medication as normal and do not order more than required.
